Bio
Dr. Zhen Ling is a professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Southeast University. He finished his PhD in computer science at the Southeast University, China under the supervision of Prof. Junzhou Luo in 2014. He was a research associate in the Department of Computer Science from Aug. 2008 to Nov. 2009 at the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, honored to be working with Prof. Xinwen Fu and Prof. Weijia Jia. After that, he joined Department of Computer Science as a visiting PhD research student from Aug. 2011 to Aug. 2013 at the University of Victoria, B.C., Canada, where he worked with Prof. Xinwen Fu and Prof. Kui Wu.
Prof. Ling is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, the Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, and the Southeast University Young Chair Professorship. He was awarded the China Computer Federation (CCF) Doctoral Dissertation Award in 2015, as well as the ACM China Doctoral Dissertation Award and the ACM Nanjing Chapter Excellent PhD Award in 2014. He received the Award of Excellence at GeekPwn in both 2016 and 2020, the Best Application Paper Award at IEEE CSCWD 2017, and the Distinguished Paper Award at IEEE ICDCS 2024. He was also honored as a Distinguished Member of the INFOCOM Technical Program Committee in 2022 and 2023. Prof. Ling has been actively involved in numerous national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects. His research has been published in prestigious conferences such as the ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS), USENIX Security Symposium (Security), Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS), and IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications (INFOCOM). His work also appears in leading journals, including IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking (ToN), IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC), IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS), IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (TIFS), IEEE Transactions on Computers (TC), IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (JSAC), and IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (TIP). Notably, his research has been presented at Black Hat and featured on China's State Science and Education Channel (CCTV 10).
